Adding Payment Plans

A payment plan allows you to automatically collect recurring payments for services provided to your customers. BRIX will handle the collection process, ensuring payments are received according to the schedule you define.

Examples

  • Collect $250 per month for lawn maintenance
  • Collect $125 per quarter for pressure washing

You can add a recurring payment plan to any customer, however, a Stripe account is required for automatic payments.

Navigate to the Customers section and select the customer for whom you want to set up a recurring payment plan.

  1. Tap the Plus icon at the top
  2. Tap Add Recurring Payment Plan

Complete the form to add the plan.

  1. Enter the amount to collect
  2. Select the frequency to collect
  3. Assign a category to the plan
  4. When should BRIX start collecting the money
  5. Tap the Add Payment Plan button when you are done

You will now see the payment plan for the customer at the bottom of the screen.

A customer can have unlimited payment plans.

Now, we need to send the payment plan to the customer so that they can put their card on file.

Tap on the payment plan to go to the plan details. We can also make changes to the plan from this screen.

Tap the Send Payment Plan Signup button.

This will open Messages on your phone and pre-populate the message and a link for the customer to complete the enrollment process.

Click the Send button and the customer can now add their credit card information.

When the customer clicks on the link, they will be taken directly to Stripe to enter their credit card information.

You will receive an email that the customer has added their credit card information to the account.

BRIX will start collecting payments based on the Start Date that you selected and the frequency.

If the payment is successful:

  • You and the customer will receive an email
  • A payment will automatically be applied to the customer account

If the payment is unsuccessful:

  • You and the customer will receive an email
  • BRIX will attempt to collect the payment the following day.
  • If that payment fails, the customer will be emailed a link to update their credit card information.
  • As soon as they update their credit card information, BRIX will capture the payment.
  • If, after 3 days, they do not update their credit card information, BRIX will email you to take manual action on the account.

You can delete a payment plan by swiping left on the plan in the customer detail screen.
